About us
The Bhakti Marga Foundation is located in Heidenrod-Springen, Germany. Surrounded by nature, it offers a serene environment for meditation, study, and community life.
As one of the representatives of Hinduism in Germany, the Foundation serves as a spiritual and cultural bridge — supporting the growing Hindu community and promoting understanding of Sanatana Dharma (the eternal way) through education, worship, and cultural engagement.
Through its temple, festivals, and educational initiatives, the Bhakti Marga Foundation fosters a living expression of devotion (Bhakti), helping preserve traditions of Hinduism.
Bhakti Marga means the ‘path of devotion’. Paramahamsa Vishwananda gave this name to His international mission to show people the simplest way to discover their eternal relationship with God.
Our activities

We produce audio, video, and other multimedia materials, as well as books and devotional items that support spiritual growth and practice.

We assist individuals who seek to preserve, deepen, and develop their spiritual path (Bhakti Marga) through study, practice, and personal insight.

We offer support to people in need — compassionately and without discrimination, regardless of background or origin.

Community life
The ashram is home to Hindu monks and nuns (Brahmachari and Brahmacharini) who dedicate their lives to service, prayer, and caring for guests. At its heart stands the Bhutabhrteshwarnath Mandir, a Hindu temple where Narasimha, the presiding deity, is worshipped as a protector and bringer of balance.
Alongside the resident monks and nuns, many families from the surrounding villages are also part of our spiritual community. Families regularly gather at the ashram to take part in prayers, festivals, temple ceremonies, celebrations, and community projects, bringing the joy of family life into the ashram’s daily rhythm.
Our mission
The foundation promotes the practice of Bhakti Marga — the “path of devotion” — through the teachings of Paramahamsa Vishwananda.
Our aim is to cultivate love, patience, and unity, while also supporting those in need through charitable and educational projects.
Our founder
Paramahamsa Vishwananda is the founder of the international mission Bhakti Marga, which translates to ‘Path of Devotion’. Bhakti Marga promotes an approach that merges both contemporary and ancient methods that help foster a relationship with the Divine.
Beautifully unifying the devotional traditions of India around the powerful Atma Kriya Yoga technique, He goes beyond dogma to religion’s real purpose: knowledge of the soul and its relationship to the Supreme source of all existence.
The mission has a presence in over 70 countries, maintaining over 55 temples and 12 ashrams around the world. Its heart in Europe is Shree Peetha Nilaya, the ashram in Heidenrod-Springen where the Bhakti Marga Foundation is at home.
Programs
We offer scholarships for individuals who wish to immerse themselves in ashram life.
Scholarship holders may stay from one month up to several years. This experience helps participants reflect on life’s deeper meaning, cultivate discipline, and find inner strength through community and devotion.
Education
The Academy Platform is an educational program dedicated to the teachings of Paramahamsa Vishwananda, Bhakti Marga, and Hinduism (Sanatana Dharma). It offers a digital learning environment with a wide range of courses and training programs that explore Hinduism and Vaishnavism, the lives of prominent Hindu saints, the study of scriptures, and many other areas of spiritual knowledge.
This long-term project is designed to make the timeless wisdom of Hinduism accessible to all who wish to deepen their spiritual journey and understanding.

The Bhakti Marga Academy provides online courses in Hindu philosophy, Bhakti Yoga, scriptures, and spiritual practices. The platform is available in English and has been translated into more than twenty languages, making it accessible to seekers worldwide through the web, iOS, and Android.
It includes guided study programs, as well as opportunities to engage with spiritual art, music, yoga, and meditation. Participants who complete the yearly study programs can also receive certificates of achievement.

With the aim of spreading the teachings of supreme divine love (bhakti), teachers across the world are trained through an intensive multi-week program that prepares them to share this knowledge authentically, give lectures, and respond to questions.
Several of the teachings presented by trained teachers are recorded or livestreamed and then made available on YouTube, making it accessible to all. Several of the teachers also participate in Hindu and spiritually oriented conferences and seminars, representing the timeless teachings of Sanatana Dharma.
Bhakti Marga Academy connects thousands of seekers around the globe, offering a living tradition of Hinduism and Bhakti — learning rooted in devotion.
Children education
Children are part of the ashram’s rhythm: festival plays and costumes, classes and creative workshops, and time outdoors in nature — a first, playful encounter with the culture and values of Bhakti.

Throughout the year, the Foundation livestreams major Hindu festivals, making them accessible globally. These festivals bring people together to celebrate, pray, and deepen their connection to the divine.
